Hi guys

Was wondering if anyone has access or knows how to create the synth sound of the keys in dua lipa’s levitating.

I made this little programm for you. It comes pretty close, but it is not 100% accurate. The problem is, there is a short attack-bend in that sound, sadly the NS3 on wich I programmed that, is not able to do that. The workaround would be to use a sample that has this small transient already in it. But the benefit of this program is, you do not need to load any samples, I used a sample that is already factory-preloaded (Choir Mixed Soft) in the NS3. Should handle it.
It seems to me that this sample is in fact the base of the original wich has been modulated.

Hello, for certain sounds, but not samples, you can get the bend-up effect with the Stage 3, but the MOD ENV Decay has to be set at max to not bend back down and release has to be set short. If you want to try it with the program you created, here's a link to a program for Crazy Dream by Tom Misch that is set up for it on one of the synths. Good luck!

I am aware of that, but as you already wrote, this workaround can only be applied to the second OSC and since the sample is always the first one, this does not work here.

Combining the program by Kaffimusic and adding the "slide up" effect with the second synth, I created the first program below and then sampled it to make the second program that uses the sample for the first synth and strings for the second synth with B3. There's enough here if you want to tweek the first program to get it closer, sample it, and then insert into the second, or just refine the second program further. Here's a short example of the second program. I hope this gets you started - don't forget to download the NSMP file below. Take care.

UPDATE: Below is a new sample "DL Levitating2 W.nsmp" with the full intro chords from the original song applied to F F# G and strings added above the middle E. Nord Sound Manager will convert the file to NSMP3 format. After loading "DL LevitatingP2W.ns3f" above you will need to point the panel B synth to the sample as it's "looking" for the first sample posted. The MP3 covers the intro chords and B3 added to the strings. I've attached the WAV of the three chords if you want to make your own sample as well.

You opened this thread and at least two people answered you and even more, they spent their time and programming something for you. Even if the result may not be what you expected, the LEAST thing you should do is say "thank you".

Unfortunately, as the sample "DL Levitating2 W.nsmp" came straight from the recording, the 3rd chord included that effect; it was the only "clean" sample without other instruments/singing. I'll look into recreating the sample to capture the notes differently to at least capture a fuller sweep if the key is held down. My other sample, "DL Levitating W.nsmp", was created with my Stage 3 and does not include that effect. An option would be to start with the actual recorded sample for the brief into and then move to the one I created with the Stage 3 throughout the song. Good luck to you.
