"I Wish" and "Higher Ground"-Stevie Wonder sounds
Hi all,
Thanks again for the help on my other thread on how to play these songs (With Superstition as well...) with only one keyboard player, it has helped a lot. So, I did a research and didn't find any patch for these two songs (Contrary to Superstition...)...I know that I might have already found what I need in all the Clav and E.Piano posted on this website and already downloaded into my Stage 2, but if someone has already some patches, could you post them, even if you don't have the time for an Mp3 demo.
Thanks in advance,
Sincerely

"Higher Ground" should be pretty simple: Just grab a clavinet and add a phaser effect.
The Nord giveth; the Nord taketh away…
"The Angels of Libra are in the European vanguard of the [retro soul] movement“ (Bill Buckley, Soul and Jazz and Funk)
The Drawbars — off jazz organ trio

Unfortunately no files to download but you can find good direction to create the sounds in the video :
I will share my own nsmp later if interested.

Re: "I Wish" and "Higher Ground"-Stevie Wonder sounds
I use a very simple setting of MK1 + Chorus+ Pan /Chorus and split with upperkeys Trumpet from the Nord Library. I play it on Stage 2 + External keyboard, but I have combined them this patch. It works for our band.

Re: "I Wish" and "Higher Ground"-Stevie Wonder sounds
Hey Guys,
I like the 'I wish' sound from the file very much, but I can not download it into my Nord stage.
I only see the files ns2p en this file is ns2pb.. Why is that? Is it from another model? I have a Nord Stage EX 2..
Greetz.

Re: "I Wish" and "Higher Ground"-Stevie Wonder sounds
It's a nord stage 2 bundle, the sample used is attached to the program, so, if you download it, it will add automatically the sample the program needs to play the song properly

Re: "I Wish" and "Higher Ground"-Stevie Wonder sounds
For "I Wish", someone posted Youtube videos for all the separate tracks.
There is a "synth" part in these tracks.
The 16th notes in this "synth" part are swung, and they are essential to creating the groove of this song.
Our band is trying to learn this song, and we have assigned this "synth" part to our lead guitarist.
Note that while the "synth" 16th notes are swung, the 8th notes played by the bass are straight (not swung).
Drums -
Bass -
"Synth" (cover via lead guitar?) -
EP (cover via keys player or rhythm guitar player) -
Horns -
Vocals -
We have two horn players in our band, and we are using our keyboard to create supplementary horn sounds with harmony voicings.
I am using my separate Roland synth for this part of it, because of its (ridiculously) good split capabilities.
But if you cover the EP part with one of your hands, and the horn attacks (harmonized) with your other hand,
you should get a decent result.
I would suggest using organ and/or EP sends as part of the noises for those "horn attacks".
You might find that a combination of organ/EP sounds with a trumpet sound mixed works better than trying to create a horn only sound, if you have no horn players in your band. It is difficult to emulate the attack of a horn player via keys/synth.
