Great, the minor 1.52 update took more than 1 year, and still so many bugs?! Maybe this will be the 1st time in history, that I will consider not updating a piece of electronic equipment I own…

With any kind of software upgrade (whether keyboard or computer), lots of people like to wait a month or whatever before upgrading,"just in case..."

Only when necessary! I've been a mac guy since 1984... I actually even had the opportunity to use one a couple of weeks before the first one was released! But the Mac I use most is on Mojave. ;-)

I never expected that in an update, if for no other reason than the buttons don't exist for it. Shoehorning it into the design with no sensible physical interface is not something Nord would do. Without buttons for it, it would probably end up being something with a bunch of menu diving, which is inconsistent with the basic design philosophy.

Though honestly, I think the NS4 wouldn't benefit from it as much as the NS3 did anyway. As I mentioned in another post, I talked about this at viewtopic.php?p=182932 - and also as I mentioned elsewhere, in terms of patch navigation and selection, I think that, on balance, patch navigation is better on the NS4 than on the NS3. While you do lose Song mode, in exchange, you gain the ability to create banks of up to 8 screen-labeled sounds, instead of banks of up to 5 unlabeled ones, which, personally, is more useful to me for quick patch access than Song mode would be. (And we still have both Nord Sound Manager and an on-board Organize function to move patches into set list order in advance of a gig; and alphabetic view is still available to quickly find something that wasn't in the set when necessary.)
Of course I know these options, but they don't help me ... I play in different tribute bands and have occupied a bank with max. 50 songs in song mode for each setlist (1 Beatles, 2 Queen, 3 Dire Straits, 4 Police/Sting, 5 U2).
I have 5 5 programs available for each song, so it is perfect. If I consider how often I have placed the piano from the A11 program in the song mode in the right places ... that would not work with your method. Do you understand what I mean?

Yes, it's exactly why Song Mode worked so well on the NS3. Having to copy the same program as many times as it might be used in multiple setlists organized in the NS4 is a waste.

Of all the things Nord needed to fix/improve on the NS4, a better Farfisa wasn't even on my list. Improving the fader operation, placement of reverb and delay effects post-fader, and other fixes/improvements for better use in performance maybe better time spent?
