Nah, I haven't left the pc3. I would replace it with the k2700, but I can't get my hands on one yet. I mostly wanted a new toy, I wanted to experiment with waterfall keys (I have a NS3 Compact), and I would like to eventually leave one at my rehearsal space instead of lugging it around every time.
This thread and my last couple weeks diving into the NS3 have been helpful for me to think about what I want/need. Maybe it's because I have been spoiled by my PC3x over the years, but I want it all: no synth/signal routing limitations (see my post about clavinet wah), I don't want to even think about running out of memory, arranger, 88 keys and of course great sounds across the spectrum.
One thing the NS3 has shown me I want is more physical controllers for things I consider basic, without diving through menus, especially effects. The extra row of knobs on the k2700 vs previous Kurzweils should hopefully give me that, but on the Compact, everything being at my fingertips is very fun.

Re: Stage piano w/ good synths - NS3 vs alternatives?
Been playing with the 'extern' section on my NS3 to control my Ipad and use it as sound module. I know that there are plenty of posts on how to do it, but I have been using Korg iM1 and it's simply great (basically a 8ch sound module with infinite possibilities). Audio jack out of my ipad (which is quite old Air 2 model) to monitor in in the NS3 and voila, all works amazingly.neomad wrote:I am planning to yet simplify my live rig and keep only the NS3 (leaving my FA07 and Moog at home, or sell them). But I still believe that 400 hundred programs are not enough (it does require a lot of planning and organisation), and there is no real librarian associated (as Moog has, brilliant by the way). Also the 2 synths parts are sometimes not enough (specially when I perform with our 'Disco Dance band') and I will need back up with more synth capabilities (where my FA excels...). Another idea was to keep the NS3, add a 61 keys controller + ipad with AUM if really needed.
Don't know why, but next big OS update should bring the new sample library and hopefully, increase the 400 slots (even the NW2 has only 400 programs...). I want to bring only 1 keyboard to my gigs / rehearsals.
Will try on my next gig and will keep you posted. But looks like I can get rid of my beloved FA without no real regret, due to the fact that synth section on the NS3 is now enhanced with my ipad and iM1 (plenty of other instruments can be used simultaneously)
