Sound cutoff at program change

Post by Thomaswb98 »

I have a question... if we change program bank or live mode or song mode when we play a song, can we change it without cutoff the voice that we are playing before?

Please only post your questions in one forum only :-)

In any case, I just answered in the other thread you created on this: the feature is called seamless transition and is supported in some newer devices.

In Nord Stage 3, yes. (Also in Electro 6). In earlier models, no.

Sorry but I always think its a bit stand-offish when someone new joins the forum and asks a question, only to be met with a reply that says, 'this has been asked before - so use the search function'.

If you are new here you wont be familiar with navigation, Previous content filing locations and lets face it, unless you knew the feature was called 'seamless transitions' you wouldnt have known to search for that right?

Surely the idea of a forum is to talk to each other lol?. Not create a database of posts and only converse if someone asks a question that hasnt been asked before?

Hi Kristy, Yes... but it is also appropriate for somebody to actually spend a little time investigating the answer rather than asking a question that has been asked and answered over and over (not necessarily in this case). Being new doesn't mean don't do your homework first. I do understand that sometimes its not easy to find the information your looking for, but not making any effort is also not appreciated.

The question of seamless transitions is very clearly addressed directly on the NORD website along with the Nord-Specific terminology used. Its also addressed specifically on plenty of YouTube videos so this information is in fact readily available.

Bear in mind, I am one of the people here who does answer a lot of questions and will in fact go out of my way to assist someone that needs help. (but help doesn't mean do it for you).

Sorry I was in a grumpy mood yesterday

I just enjoy the conversation I guess. I often check the forum to see if anything is going on and sometimes its so quiet, so when a new member joins and then gets shot for asking something it is a bit sad.

I remember when I moved from the NP2 to the NS2 and couldnt work out why I wasnt able to get my volume pedal to adjust just the volume of the synth section. I put a post up to ask and someone kindly suggested I look up 'morphing' in the manual. From there I was able to go and find out what I needed to do. No problem.

Yes people can do homework, but sometimes their homework is 'Lets find a group of Nord experts and ask those guys'. Sometimes folk just need steering a little and I dont see that as lazy.

Can someone make me a patch that sounds like song X - Now that is being lazy

Kirsty, I think we already answered the OP (both here and in the other thread) with the appropriate name (seamless) before the suggestion to do a search?

In the other thread I had a more detailed reply (that was the post I saw first) but apparently the thread was later deleted due to the crosspost.

So hopefully the OP feels welcome here and have received a reply (even if there hasn't been any follow-up posts, as far as I can tell).

Yep, I also feel that a little bit of generosity and diplomacy wouldn‘t hurt. An atmosphere of „you‘re welcome here even if you are a beginner“ doesn‘t cost much. A then given hint like „look there and there“ would then surely be seen as a help, not a restricting must. I‘d be glad about EVERY member here - and I can‘t guarantee that all my posts will be perfect. Have a nice day. Sunny regards from Germany.
