Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
Hi
You can't, each Program contains all settings for all sections/panels (regardless they are saved as active or not) so how can you "layer" 2 of them?
But you can copy single panels across programs (see Copy function in the manual)

Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
Maxpiano is correct in this. Depending on what the presets are, if they don't contain a piano, I would say to sample both presets in note form at fixed velocity, merge the samples together and create a new sample. but as I say, that's sampling and not recommended for sampling the pianos as patches due to the sample polyphony issues the stage 3 faces.

Yes unfortunately one of the drawbacks. If i could ask one more thing of the ns3 its patch layering. I can only imagine the possibilities.

exactly what we do need, that and increased sample / synth polyphonyhilbilly parade wrote:Yes unfortunately one of the drawbacks. If i could ask one more thing of the ns3 its patch layering. I can only imagine the possibilities.

Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
I assume you (all) understand that what you are asking for implies doubling the NS engines i.e. like having another 2 "hidden" panels fully available, right? Not even on other models such as e.g. the Motif you could layer the Combis/LiveSets when they include a full configuration/usage of the keyboard resources (because NS Programs are equivalent to "combis" of its 6 engines + 2x extern + effects).hilbilly parade wrote:Yes unfortunately one of the drawbacks. Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
Yes indeed but a lifelong annoyance of mine is this is not landing on the moon with the technology available today we could have that easily in a $4000 investment or at least I believe we should...
Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
Technically the reference to yamaha and korg isn't correct. the reason behind this is the motif XS and XF, Korg Krome and Kronos, even the Roland Fantom, have the ability to merge patches together in live sets or combis regardless of the engines used, I should know, I've owned a few lol.maxpiano wrote:I assume you (all) understand that what you are asking for implies doubling the NS engines i.e. like having another 2 "hidden" panels fully available, right? The nords don't operate like this due to two constraints. 1: DSP, 2: Recource and OS Design. the 2nd part can be changed fairly easily and hidden pages could in fact be created by using the shift key with a key combination if the OS was given such an addition, but the way to do this particular option wouldn't in fact be this, it would be a method of taking samples (synth in this example) and layering them as a sub component, doable, but the issue then is voice polyphony.

Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
You can do this now. Just buy two NS3s.
Current Gear: NS3C, NP5-88, NP5-73, Alesis QS7.1 & QS8.2, Hammond B3 with Leslie 122, Yamaha CP70, Yamaha C3 6' Grand, Roland D-05

Re: Layering 2 preset sounds
Sound layering is one of the NS3's strong suits. 2x piano and 2x organ and 2x synth/sample per program. I don't understand the complaint here.
