I tried the white grand through my Yamaha monitors. Wow! It just blew me away. It is their best sample and will be replacing the workhorse Silver grand on my Piano 3. I played it through my HK rig ang it was good, but through monitors, a different story. I can now imagine the set up of a Nord Grand with its own monitors paired up with the Kawai Keybed A great experience I would expect!! Thank you Nord!

That's gonna be my setup! Yamaha HS80M's, and a Nord Grand! I already have the speakers. Now I just need the board.

A lot of talk in this thread about White Grand sounding great in mono. I’ve noticed the same. So much so that Royal, Silver and Studio all sound very dull and nearly unusable to my ears. Have they done something different with White that performs better in mono? Should there be mono samples in the library? Honestly, when you play live, unless you’re in a specific sweet spot, stereo really doesn’t work. All the pianos sound amazing in stereo - headphones are a dream and of course you wouldn’t record any other way. But playing live I use the Bose L1 which is mono and find White the absolutely best (both stereo and mono) Lady D and Grand Imperial to be serviceable - but the rest just sound like crap in mono....

Am I missing something?

Hi Everyone!
Two days ago I visited music store and again I had opportunity to play on Nord Grand.
Big surprise was XL version of the "White Grand" sample already included on the Grand. Unfortunately, I didn't have my recorder with myself and I couldn't record anything - such a pity.

Anyway, White Grand sample for me is the best sample in every aspect. It's very universal in the colour of this sound. I think, it can be adapted to many musical genres. IMO, White Grand sample is not only the most beautiful in the colour but it's also very acoustical and inspired me very much - I couldn't get away from the instrument and every sound or chord on this sample provoked my imagination to create further chords and melodies.
Long time I didn't feel so great synergy between keyboard and sound like in this case. "White Grand" absolutely hypnotized me :o :keyboard:

Adiditionally Timbre function effectively increase a character of this sample, especially in the colour and articulation. The "soft" position gives incredibly impressionistic soft attack. The "medium" one, warms up the sound and releases the center frequencies a lot. The "bright" one gives a little bit a full concert grand piano kind of sound, especially at the bottom of keyboard range.
My additional observation about the White Grand sample. There is no characteristic noise on White Grand sample, which appears less or more on other grand/upright samples, while using the Timbre function set on Bright position.
