Hanon_CTS posted some great Roland D50 samples at nord-user-samples-nsmp-samples-f14/d-5o ... ?hilit=d50. Both of these programs use the D50 Soundtrack sample in Slot A, but Slot B is set up differently. Both Slot B Programs make use of the OSC2 functionality, combined with the MODULATION MOD ENV, OSC CTRL, and MOD ENV ATTACK among others. Take care
Program "D50 Soundtrack W": This first program has Slot B set up to emulate the D50 sample using just the synth settings. I like the effect a lot and with the synth (versus the sample) you can adjust many more characteristics of the sound including the timing of the note and harmonic being heard. The MP3 covers three chords played twice with the D50 Sample, played twice with the Slot B harmonic synth, and then played twice with both synths on. I then add a little of the LFO and play around a little with the MOD ENV.
Program "D50 Soundtrack2W": The second program has the same D50 sample in Slot A but Slot B is set up for a simple “bend up” in notes played to complement the sample. The way it's set up, you can have the effect on any OSC1 classic, wave, or formant waveform, depending on what you want. The MP3 covers three chords played twice with the D50 Sample, played twice with the Slot B synth, and then played twice with both synths on.
