As fabiokey has complained with good reason (http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... t2009.html) the synth of the NS2 sounds different compared to the NSC/EX.
This is my try of basic syn strings on the NS2 just using saw waveforms.
You can switch on the EQ of slot A that I have preprogrammed for some more treble.

Re: Basic Syn Strings
Very nice and a good starting point for Pads in general! Thanks well deserved
I modified it to get a Warm Pad, just by taking only the slot A sound (to leave a Synth section free for further split/layer), removing filter Mod Env on Frequency (to eliminate the "bowed" effect) and lowering cutoff to circa 250Hz (but assigning Wheel to morph it, so that when I want to open it... )
You may also want to switch to the LP24 filter to make it "darker"
Here is what I obtained:
EDIT: I updated the patch, change made: increased attack time on AMP ENV

Re: Basic Syn Strings
great job !!!! I switched on the LP24 and now really sounds like a good warm pad.....
I had a strange idea..... I have some friends with NS EX..... I want to try to sample the NS EX basic SAW and two octave SAW , as well as TRI and SINE..... I think is the behaviour of filters that change the sound.....but .....why not to try?? I can see several critics in this forum about the difficoulty to create a basic sinth on the fly... and I'm with it.
if you see , in the EX , beside the first factory piano patch sound , if you switch on the synth there was a pad done with the basic synth....
now ,in NS2 , the factory "pad" in the first patch is done with sample waveforms....
if it works , I mean......if the EX saw will make simple to do great sounding sinth and pad on the fly , like we used to do on the EX , I'll share the samples
