Re: Volume Pedal on NS3
By the way,NS3 includes Roland EV7 as pedal and not EV5. I assume that compatibility is assured. Will double check in case

The System settings mean nothing with regards to which physical pedal you can or cannot use, i.e. they just sw-set the scale (pot value & type LIN/LOG) and possibly the wiring schema (cursor on tip/ring); on my NS2 I used also a GEM volume pedal (10K linear pot) which is not even listed and it worked both as EV5 and EV7 (which is maybe why on NS3 they removed one of them)
Try also setting it as Fatar

Re: Boss FV500H Volume Pedal on NS3
New to Nord and looking to add a volume pedal to my NS3 and found this thread. Wondering if the Boss FV500H (high impedance) volume pedal would work in this situation and why not?
The H version would sit inline with my Ch1 or Ch2 out but not both I guess, and that would pose a problem, but the H version is discounted online right now.
Looks like the L version has the two channel in and out, but which do you plug into the OrganSwell port? Both H and L have the Exp jack, does that work in our OrganSwell port? So many questions, sorry! Just want to get this right.
Couldn't find a jack picture for the Roland EV5 to see how that would work? Anyone found another pedal that serves as a volume pedal for our Nords?

Re: Volume Pedal on NS3
Hi, and welcome!
L or H is pretty irrelevant, since you will be using it as an expression pedal, connecting a balanced (tip/ring/sleeve) cable from the Exp jack of the pedal to the expression or swell input on the Nord.
If you hook it up to the expression input, you can use it to control organ swell and the volume of all other instruments (via morph assignments).
AFAICS, it’s a mono pedal when used as an inline volume pedal, so I probably wouldn’t use it for that.
I’d consider it for its build quality and flexibility in also being usable as an inline volume pedal, but if it’s only for the Nord, the inline capability probably won’t matter.

Re: Volume Pedal on NS3
Boss FV500H and FV500L both have provision to accept a single TRS for expression,Roland calls it 'control'......they both work fine with a Nord Stage 3.
Molded end cable on FC7 won't last as long as a real TRS cable and steel pedal though. The H version hiZ has no advantage when used as a 'controller'.
The Boss steel pedals last the longest,I am 70 and haven't killed mine in the last twenty years.FC7? Too light duty for me.EV5? WAY too light for me.

My first FC7 lasted more than two and a half decades.
