Nord Sample Editor works fine under Wine, but there is no connection to the kbd because the USB driver cannot be installed in Wine (well it installs, but it gives an error).
Nord Sound Manager installs under Wine, but during installation complains about the USB driver not being properly installed (rescan fails). Then it runs, but icons are all grey.

I wonder how this can be solved.

A quick search reveals this :
AFAIK Wine has no access to the USB stack (=no Windows drivers). Wine will see a device if and only if it has native device support in Linux.

So unless Clavia makes such a driver available in Linux it won't work.
I don't know how Apple handles this as it's a kind of BSD AFAIK ?

Apple builds the necessary tools into the HAL. The Nord client software is native and accessed the HAL just as any other native software would.

Why Windows requires installation of a driver is beyond me. But that applies to Windows in general.

Linux has no native client, and until people start using it as desktop machines in any sort of serious numbers (right now, hardly anybody does), that’s not going to change.

But fear not! I’ve heard that 1993 is going to be Year of the Linux Desktop, for sure! Or was it 1998...? Any day now, though, for definitely maybe surefire yes!

Yes, I don't know what is "special" about the connection.
But Wine will probably look for the driver via the software and not find it.
Maybe if the software didn't check on it.

I've been using it for years now and there's few things I can't do for day-to-day stuff.
Even Ardour has a Linux-version.

But, true, most audio-stuff starts on Apple and/or Windows.

Running version 2.0. After running the update program, it hung for me as well as waiting for update. I realized that I never installed the latest USB drivers. While the Nord Updater Tool was still hanging, I installed the drivers. As soon as the drivers were installed, it began to erase the old firmware, and install the new firmware. No more problems.
