Re: Hammond/Rhodes on P4/Grand?
Great news, Norbert,
and I hope you‘ll like it. As far as your last question „graduated“ is concerned I hoped that one of the Grand- or NP4 users had answered. Neither the nord website nor the manuals which you can download here
https://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads ... nord-grand
seem to give any info about that. Only to make sure, you mean if there is a different keybed feeling between low and high keys, right?
Have fun, stay healthy everybody and best regards from Germany

Re: Hammond/Rhodes on P4/Grand?
If it were me, I'd do the unweighted Electro 6D for organs, synths etc. -- and then get a weighted controller down below for the piano bits.
There are at least a few decent choices in weighted piano actions -- many more than organ actions. The piano engine is identical across the various Nord products. As mentioned elsewhere, I use a NP4 as a weighted controller for a NS3C and I really like the combination.

I think I have gear issues ....

Re: Hammond/Rhodes on P4/Grand?
Thanks for all your tips!
I picked up the Piano 4, and I am happy after some hours of playing!
I like the action and found some great sounds.
Next step is downloading some sounds and organizing them.
Have a nice evening

Great choice Noeps !
I made the same 3 months ago and I'm really happy with it.
If you look at the Mellotron organ section (Nord sample library 3.0) you will find some organ samples. Of course you can't modify that much the sound but for me they are good enough to play rock organ hits.
Have fun with your new instrument !

Re: Hammond/Rhodes on P4/Grand?
I am new to this, but an older player who has just invested in a Piano 4. I have no issues at all with the action, and wonder where does one go to get more Hammond sounds for my new 4.
I think the folks who have problems with action never grew up with a real stiff action, which I did. Playing this Nord and previously my Kurzweil Artis, I find no restrictions on my abilities to
render a piano or organ solo. What is frustratingly restrictive is the availability of more authentic organ samples. I moved on getting a 4 after watching and listening to demo where I swear I
saw man playing the Nord like a Hammond and a Rhodes. I'm reading here that the "sound engine" of the Nord doesn't accommodate organ samples. What does that mean ?

Re: Hammond/Rhodes on P4/Grand?
Fred, the answer becomes more clear if you look across the Nord product portfolio.
The NP4 has two sound engines, one for piano-ish (multilayer) samples, and a straight (single layer) sample player for horns, strings, etc.
The NE6 has three: the previous two and an organ engine that does Hammond sounds well among other things.
The NS3 has six: two each of the aforementioned piano and organ engines, as well as two real synth engines that also do sample playback. These are organized into two distinct panels, with one of each engine.
So, you probably did see someone wailing a Hammond sound on a Nord. It just wasn't the NP4.
If you want satisfying Hammond/leslie sounds, a straight sample playback isn't going to do it for you.
