You could also just sample the sound you want yourself (using the sample editor) and create a new sample. It's not so difficult in reality of you have a computer with a decent sound card?monsterjazzlicks wrote:Hi guys,
I meant to reply sooner but I have been mad busy all day, for obvious reasons.
I d/l the Hammond B3 and C3 samples from forum member Connor. I am not sure if they are actual samples of the physical instrument or edits of the Nord organ presets? For my own usage and personal taste, the former had too much of a 'click' to it, and the latter too loud a 3RD harmonic. I mean, they are probably fine for RH lead-line but not for walking-bass. Nothing against Connor's work though as I appreciate his contributions.
I'm any event the notion of making the SPLIT using the combination of an Organ and a Sample does work!
I suppose the next step will be to d/l some more Organs and audition them in the same fashion...
Many thanks,
Paul

Hi baekgaard,
Do you mean actually sample a REAL Hammond?! I am afraid I don't have one nor have access to one.
I was thinking along the lines of the possibility of sampling the Hammond on my Electro (with just, say, the 16' drawbar out), then loading this sample in the sampler section. That way I would have the RH Organ being generated from the Organ engine, and the LH organ-bass from the sample engine. Is this possible, might you know, please?
Also, I looked thru other organs on the user-sampler 'upload' page but there does not seem to be a huge amount. Of the organs I heard, those which offered a demo, where not suited to the genre/timbre I am looking for. This is the type of vibe I am looking for (though I sure you guessed it anyway!):
Watch on youtube.com
Cheers,
Paul

I was thinking you could sample your own Nord when playing a B3 sound. Just set it up to the sound you want (maybe the B3 bass?) and sample every 3rd with the effects you want. Having a rotating Leslie may make looping more challenging, so you could consider a stopped Leslie.monsterjazzlicks wrote:baekgaard wrote:You could also just sample the sound you want yourself (using the sample editor) and create a new sample. Then import the recording into the sample editor and tell it what it is, set up suitable loop points and create the nsmp for download.

Thanks a lot baekgaard,
This is something I have obviously not performed as yet having been messing with the instrument for less than one week. But I think it is the best way of achieving the desired result.
I just had a quick experiment on the Electro 6D: I chose B3-Bass and changed the Click-Level to 'low'. I killed off the Rotary (as you suggested); in it's place I added a little 'compression'. Then I activated 'C1' (in the 'Vibrato' panel); I don't usually like 'C1' but in this case it helps to add a bit of movement to the sound - because the Rotary is OFF. Lastly I had the 1st two drawbars fully open (it looks like on B3-Bass that all other drawbars are deactivated?).
Cheers,
Paul
