Moving from Aust to US- power conversion

Postby visionmusic » 05 May 2018, 14:05

Hi all,
Figured this subject night be of interest to general Nord owners, not specific to the Stage.
I already own a Stage 2 76, which I've been very happy with. Probably the most long term satisfaction I've have from any board, and I bought my first over 30 years ago.

Moving to NYC without a car I just purchased a stage 3 compact for the convenience of cab/uber and subway.

I got a great deal in Australia and had read a few posts about switching the internal power supply over to 110v and changing the fuse so I can use the board in the US without a converter.

Now, first question is, is the p/supply in the stage 3 compact the same as the older boards in that it is switchable in the same manner?

Secondly, if I took both boards with me and got a converter, what is the recommended converter needed to run a stage 2 76 and a stage 3 compact?

Thanks in advance.

If you’re staying in the States for longer, just switch the voltages and fuses. The Stage 3 works the same way.

Odd that the power supply doesn't work on all voltages/frequencies automatically, I would have expected the keyboard would work on either. This is the case for practically all electronic items I own.
