As a coda, I could defend our tropism towards awarding the newest piano with the highest honors by granting the assumption that Clavia's sampling technology is ever-improving. This would explain why the file sizes keep getting larger (also to encourage you to upgrade your Nord piano, but that's another discussion).
I would love to know just HOW this technology has improved - Clavia provides no information on how they make these samples, and while I understand that they are protecting some trade secrets, even a little information goes a long way.

Re: Grand Piano Poll: which one is the best?
I agree. The right piano for the job.
For example I layered Hybrid EP, soft release and KB Touch=3 -
With Harp 1, filter wide open and amp env velocity=1.
It's a great harp sound. Then when I play with more velocity, the Hybrid EP gives it a nice punch. Not your typical piano use case and yet, that's one of the things I love about a Nord.

Re: Grand Piano Poll: which one is the best?
Hello friends,
I have not voted because I use the White, the Bright and the Imperial for different purposes. No favourite, but I can say the White is the most versatile and „fully“ sounding. Don‘t forget using the EQ - sometimes it needs only a bit of treble to modify the character.
My main reason for writing here is that I‘ve just had some deeper looks into two iPad apps with piano sampling files between 1,6 GB and 14! GB.
I would like to encourage the clavia people to consider a let‘s call it premium offer for piano heavy users: the BEST ever nord piano with 800 or 900 MB. I‘d love it - and would for sure then have a favourite.
Cheers from Germany, stay healthy everybody

I like these polls, and I can never get enough of them.
hahah , I was reading your comment with a big smile. .
Funny to see that most voted for the White Grand, for me it is just number four of the list.
I voted for the Silver Grand , for me it is the most versatile Grand of the whole collection.

Re: Grand Piano Poll: which one is the best?
Many have mentioned here that they use different pianos for different purposes, and that's true - so picking a "best" might not have been the best wording. Maybe "desert-island Nord piano sample" - you only get one, regardless of what kind of music you play. That might be more revealing.
If I was stuck on a desert island with my Nord, and it could only play ONE piano sample -which would it be? Now I'm not so sure I would pick the White Grand. Maybe the Studio Grand 2, or the Black Upright - something a little less demanding on the ear.
Even better, if it could only play one SOUND! Then I might have to go with the B3...at least I get the drawbars for some variance.

What if you could have just one drawbar - which one is your favourite one?

We could be generous and ask: Which one is your favorite drawbar in combination with the basic one?

Re: Grand Piano Poll: which one is the best?
Ha! the sound of drawbar silence.
my favorite drawbar setting is whatever my kids wind up leaving it at... they love moving those things around when I'm not in the house.
Pianos... the white has become my default for all music. When I want something more mellow with a quicker decay, I use the velvet grand. When I want upright, I use the the black petrof. I really love the tone on that one. But if I could only use one... white wins.
