(Nord Lead 4) + (Nord Lead A1) = Amazing Combo !

Hi,

I just thought I let you guys know how amazed I am at how great the Nord Lead 4 & Nord Lead A1 are complementing each other. (I have both of them in Desktop models), and I'm very Happy I chose these two Synths. I have them both sitting on my Main studio desk in front of me, so tweaking both is easy, and a joy to work with. Triggering them from my Yamaha Motif XF7.

I got the Nord Lead 4 (Rack) when it first came out, the NLA1 was not born yet. Then added the NLA1 (R) right after it was released, but I spent most of my time working with the NL4, and just recently started discovering the NLA1, and WOW ! This thing is Amazing.. Sounds so Analog, with character, warmth, and It's very lively, so many great surprises as I tweak it... what a beauty.

Ok, so just wanted to share this bit of positive info. with you.

After switching from the NL4 to the A1 I have to admit that I miss a few choice features on the NL4. LFO modulation of FX, OSC 2 pitch tracking off, random arpeggiator mode, and some other features that had seemed unessential at the time...

Ha! Yes the L4 sounds right for me in theory, but I do like the idea of an extremely quick to program synth that sounds amazing, and that's all I ever hear about the A1.

Edit: let's put it this way: I have a virus ti and two modular g2s. I know my synthesis and I like to get weird... But I also want a go to synth for fast patch creation... Basses pads and leads. While I'm sure id love the extra L4 features I'm afraid I'll just tweak on it forever, which is my problem with the other synths I have. Endless possibilities. I really just want to go play the two side by side, but oddly no where in the SF Bay Area has them to demo

Nice set up, but I should be too old to like desktop/rack synth when I can have them with keys, especially the red ones....I have always dreamed of the 5/6 keyboards of Pink Floyd, Genesis, Weather report etc.... So, pilling them is so nice.....I just miss one..... A real Grant....6.2 or 6.7'.....
