Nord Stage 2 88 vs. Nord Stage 2ex 88
Nord Stage 2 88 vs. Nord Stage 2ex 88
Is it true that the only hardware change is twice the piano memory? I am asking because the price for the Stage 2 already dropped to around 2800 EUR and the Stage 2 ex will start at around 3500 EUR.

Yes.
The Nord giveth; the Nord taketh away…

Yes, so annoying... :/ronzo wrote:Is it true that the only hardware change is twice the piano memory? I am asking because the price for the Stage 2 already dropped to around 2800 EUR and the Stage 2 ex will start at around 3500 EUR.
But I have to save up money first and then the 'old' ond won't be available anymore...
I think thomann has a low sale price...
But although I think that the 1GB will be a little bit worthy... I won't have to manage my storage so well ^^

If i'm buying new Stage I would go for NS2 EX.
Yes it's little bit more expensive, but it will keep price for 2-3 years and will be much easier for sell.
But I have Ns2 and for me it's not worth the hassle of selling NS2 and buying NS2 ex for just a 512 piano memory ☺

I think it's a waste of time and money from NORD to bring out the STAGE 2 EX !! And bad service for customers who already own a STAGE 2 !! It's better for all of us to focus on new instruments which have significant improvements and/or changes and to focus more on OS-upgrades for existing instruments. They should have implemented (at least !) the beautiful sounding pipe organ of the new ELECTRO 5 !! It's a shame they don't have the opportunity to upgrade the STAGE 2 with expandable memory !!

Sorry, but what you mentioned above would be a waste of time... You don't really need a full pipe... samples will do it, if you're not a church organ player... They are working on a Stage 3, for 2EX they didn't have much efford, so they have time for the 3... So 2EX is a 2 with more memory for the same price as the 2 two months ago, just think about that...Keys Wizard wrote:I think it's a waste of time and money from NORD to bring out the STAGE 2 EX !! Hi,
Will be interesting to see how much MEMORY the NS3 will have when it is released. I find the lack of MEMORY to be a dreadful limitation! The NS3 should be at least 1GB IMO.
Ta,
Paul

...and then they'll release those super-large Rhodes samples that people have been begging for and you *still* won't have enough space for them all...
Unfortunately, with Flash RAM, you're never going to be able to catch up; it's the nature of the beast.

Hi Leo,
Ta,
Paul
Which is why NORD would probably lose me as a customer because I refuse to play their games of catch-up!RedLeo wrote:Unfortunately, with Flash RAM, you're never going to be able to catch up; it's the nature of the beast.

I don't agree ! The Pipe Organ on the ELECTRO 5 has 9 drawbars and that makes for a much richer and more flexible sound. Church organ player or not, the sound is better than only with samples AND you have full polyphony !!MartinJ2EX wrote:Sorry, but what you mentioned above would be a waste of time... The STAGE 2 is already 4 years 'old', not 2 months ! Think about that !!
