Hello everyone!
I would like to controll the organ engine of my Nord stage 2 from another keybord (Yamaha Motif XF6). I successfully assigned the 8 sliders of the Motif to the fist 8 drawbars of the Nord , 1st knob to 9th drawbar, and other 7 knobs to diffent functions of the Nord organ engine. The last thing i wanted to acheive is to assign the volume of the organ engine to one of the sliders. On the Nord Stage, the organ volume correspond to CC #100. Here's the problem, on the Motif, you cannot assign CC's 96 to 102 to anything because they are reserved for NRPNs.
I explained my problem on the Motif User Forum and here's the answer i received:
<<If you read the MIDI spec, the CCs between 96 and 102 are for NRPNs:
MIDI CC 96 (+1) Data Increment Usually used to increment data for RPN and NRPN messages.
MIDI CC 97 (-1) Data Decrement Usually used to decrement data for RPN and NRPN messages.
MIDI CC 98 Non-Registered Parameter Number LSB (NRPN) For controllers 6, 38, 96, and 97, it selects the NRPN parameter.
MIDI CC 99 Non-Registered Parameter Number MSB (NRPN) For controllers 6, 38, 96, and 97, it selects the NRPN parameter.
MIDI CC 100 Registered Parameter Number LSB (RPN) For controllers 6, 38, 96, and 97, it selects the RPN parameter.
MIDI CC 101 Registered Parameter Number MSB (RPN) For controllers 6, 38, 96, and 97, it selects the RPN parameter.
Vendors who use these CCs for other purposes are violating the MIDI spec, so incompatibility is to be expected.>>
So it seems impossible to controll the organ volume and some other Nord stage features from another keyboard. Is this normal?

Based on that logic, Yamaha does not want you to have the ability to control NRPNs from their sliders/knobs. Makes little sense. Any ordinary controller should allow this.
