A1 brass sound

Post by Anders C »

Hi

In my Electro 4d I have a sound called "Trio Horns and Baryton".
Does anyone have a brass sound like that for the Lead A1?

Thanks.

Hi Anders,

The sound you reference from your NE4D is a sample. The NLA1 cannot load samples. It will be possible to synthesize some brassy-type sounds on the NLA1, but it will not be possible to achieve the kind of reality which a sample can provide and you won't be able to get that bari sax on the bottom range while getting horns on top all at once.

Bless,

Pablo

Thanks Pablo.

I'll try to synthesize a brass sound as realistic as I can get it.

If anyone though has made a nice and semi-realistic brass sound - I'd be pleased to hear it:-)

The A1 was born and designed to emulate vintage analog synths, not really for reproducing realistic brass or any acoustic sound.... you need to think of it as a Moog or Prophet ...

You may find that you love the combination of the two most -- the sampled brass layered with the synthesized brass for phatness.

Hej!

The quest for brass seemed like a good starting point for another go at exploring the factory & Kroffe banks.
But ... no ... none of the so called "Brass" patches seemed right. I ended up enjoying the pads of the old JV1010 instead. Sweet!

Soon, I hope, there will be some real vintage patches uploaded by Forum wizards like Ricard or Elektromin or Shark or ...
I'm probably too old, lazy and clumsy to brew my own!

Thanks for the nomination Michael, but I'm like you: too old and too lazy.

My A1 is gathering dust waiting for some REAL and USABLE vintage sounds. Not the usual farts, burps, white noise and techno trash. Almost sorry I sold my old and trusted JV1010.

best

I'm so lazy I haven't even got an A1 (the demo I uploaded in one of the threads was done on a machine that was only on loan). (Quite frankly, I'm itching to get a new synth in order to get a change from my Nord Lead 2, but my solution to not being able to decide between the NL A1, the Elektron A4 / Analog Keys or the Waldorf Blofeld Keys has so far been to do absolutely nothing, save for having a desktop Blofeld for evaluation. Subject for a different thread. At least I've ruled out the NL4 which is a start ... ).
