Hi,

you mean recording ideas via MIDI (so you can edit it afterwards, visualize it in a sequencer, or even create sheet music from it?),
or audio (recording the audio just to not forget your ideas?
For both cases, no external sound card is needed (as nowadays every laptop or decktop basically has a sound card integrated).
Just connect the USB cable for recording MIDI to you computer, you just might need to install the Nord MIDI driver: http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/ ... nd-manager
If you want audio, use a simple jack 6.3 to jack 3.5mm cable or some form of an adapter and record in any simple audio recording program on your computer (e.g., try the free Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

Just keep in mind that the Nords do not transmit audio over USB, only MIDI. In the end it may be better to record MIDI than Audio if you intend to "write" music. That way you would be writing music as you play!

To record audio, you may as well be able to hookup the output directly to your laptop's input. Just get some kind of cable like this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CMP159

Saludos,
Gustavo
