Adding sounds to Nord Electro 2

Hello everyone!

I am trying to add sounds to my Nord Electro 2 keyboard but I'm having some trouble.
I think that the Nord Sound Manager v6.52 only supports Nord Electro 3 and newer versions of the Electro.

My question is: Is there no way around it? Do I have to buy a really expensive new Electro in order to add new sounds?

You can download some new acoustic and electric piano sounds in the Electro 2. See

and look along the nav bar to the left to access the different categories of sounds you can download.

You cannot download the newer Electro 3 sounds into the Electro 2. The ability to take those larger piano samples and add all those other non-piano samples (Mellotrons, etc.) is the main reason the Electro 3 superseded the Electro 2 in the first place, it is the biggest difference between the E2 and the E3.

Do we know if the Electro 2 Editor can work with newer Mac OS's?

Yes, we do know. No, it will not. It will not work with newer Microsoft OS either.

Please Clavia, consider supporting linux or at least make your programs run under some emulation layer, Wine or similar.
That way your instruments will be less prone to suffer from 3rd party obsolescence.

I am still having trouble adding the sounds, I have downloaded the nord electro tool but my computer doesn't find my keyboard. I still have to install usb driver but I can't work out how to do that.

Can someone help me with the USB driver installation?

When I install the driver there is no .exe file in my folder, but maybe that's okay?

If it's an Apple, the Apple menu --> about this Mac will tell you.

On Windows:

If you can't operate it, and it's old: Windows Vista.
If you can't operate it, and it's new: Windows 8.
