Recently I bought a used NORD Rack 2x. But then I discovered that there was no sounds/patches in it. I want to restore to the factory conditions, I have all the sounds I need.
So, I have all this:
A MIDI-USB Cable (Roland UM-ONE)
A Macbook
MIDI Monitor
SysEx Librarian
Nord Sound Manager v6.52
And the NORD RACK, of course
But I have no ideia how to use them to transmit sounds. Does anyone know how? I searched all the internet and found no answer
Also, when I turn it on, the display shows to me two little letter C`s. What does that mean?

First of all: skip the Nord Sound Manager. It will not work with the NR2X.
Load a file/bank in SyxEx Librarian. Start MIDI Monitor. Start transmission from SysEx Librarian. Do you see anything happen in MIDI Monitor? Else, check your settings, filters etc in both SysEx Librarian and MIDI Monitor.
When that works: check the display of your NR2X. Does it recieve nything?
Is there a LED on your USB-MIDI cable that indicates traffic?
That should be a good starting point. Then you have to sort out where (what bank etc) you want to put the programs and performances. Carefully check the manual.
Good luck!

Perhaps Ricard or Electromin can explain that, please?

This is very suspicious. I've never heard of an NL2X with no sounds. Is "cc" the only thing you see in the display during boot? It should flash the OS version numbers along the way. Does the instrument plkay at all? Are you able to create programs? You may want to have a talk with the person who sold it to you...
The last owner said to me that he doesn`t changed the sound bank, it`s still from factory. Now I`m trying to control the Nord Rack with a microKORG XL, maybe I`m doing something wrong at setting... Someone know how to set MicroKORG as a controller for NORD?
- Connect the microKORG to the Nord Rack via MIDI cable (5-pin on both ends): Korg: MIDI-OUT ---> Nord: MIDI-IN
- First test: can you already play the Nord via the Korg? Is there any sound? Does the TRIG-LED light up?
- Do you have the manuals of both instruments? And did you read them?
- Then check if the Korg sends MIDI OUT on all MIDI channels (usually this is "omni mode") or adjust it e.g. to channel 1.
- Set the MIDI channel(s) on the Nord Rack, e.g. Slot 1 also to MIDI channel 1.
Here the original text from the Nord manual:
BASIC MIDI SETTINGS FOR THE NORD RACK 2X
If you are using the Nord Rack 2X and controlling it from a MIDI keyboard, the Nord Rack 2X must
be set to receive on the same MIDI channel that the keyboard transmits on. To get started, proceed as
follows:
1. Set the master keyboard to transmit on MIDI Channel 1. (= This is your Korg)
2. Press the SLOT A button, so that the LED above the button is lit.
3. Hold down the SHIFT button and press the MIDI CH (Unison) button.
The DISPLAY will now show the MIDI Channel setting for Slot A (1 – 16 or off).
4. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to select MIDI Channel 1.
5. Press Shift again to return to the normal play mode.
If you use Slot A when you play the Nord Rack 2X (if you like, together with other Slots), this simple
setting should be sufficient in most situations - even when playing Layers and Performances, as
described later in this manual. For more information, see page 76.
THE TRIG BUTTON
If you don’t have a keyboard connected to your Nord Rack 2X, you can still try out the sounds by using
the TRIG button. Pressing this button is equal to playing the note C3, with a velocity of 64.
The indicator next to the Trig button will light up every time the Nord Rack receives a valid MIDI Note
message. This is an easy way to check that your MIDI connections are OK.
No, I cant`play the Nord. I can`t hear nothing from the Nord. At first I thougt it was a speaker problem, but I already tried different speakers.
I have the manual for the both instruments, and I followed the instructions for MIDI controlling.
The Nord Rack seems to be frozed, when I turn it on all the lights are there, but none response.
No, I don't think so. It should be the sam as my NL2X: the mains switch is the reset.
I feel sad about the trouble you are having with your Nord.

After briefly displaying the name of the product and the firmware revision, it should display the currently loaded patch number for slot A i.e. either somthing like 35 (internal memory) or 1.43 (memory card). If it just sits there with anything else in the display there is definitely something wrong with it.
