Nord lead 2 -rack: Midi controller

Post by myonatan »

Hi so i have this problem. i connect my midi controller to the rack on channel 1. Whenever i press the layer that recieves the midi info. it starts
to mess with my sound and i have disturbances. if im pressing a different part on the nord lead than the one i'm playing, i runs smoothly.
the problem has something to do with the nord cause i changed a few keyboards, and still getting the same result.
Did anyone have the same problem and knows how to deal with it?

Hi Myonatan,

I do not understand exactly what you are saying here, but it may help you to know that the rack versions of the Nord Lead synths behave differently from the keyed versions. On a keyed version, pressing and selecting any particular Slot will cause it to become active on the keyboard. When a Slot light is not lit, that slot's sound will not be active.

On the rack versions, however, slots will ALWAYS be active regardless of whether their respective LEDs are lit. Slots will ALWAYS respond to any midi data stream which appears it its midi input port according to the midi channel settings. If Slot C is set to midi channel 13, then sending note data on channel 13 to the Nord will result in notes playing.
