Local control can be turned off but it turns itself back on!
Im using the excellent Nord Lead A1 as my master keyboard as its a nice size to fit between my keyboard an monitor plus a great sounding synth and nice keybed.
The only niggle problem I have is that every time I power it on the local control option turns back on, this is unlike other synths that I have and a bit annoying to change it each time.
I can understand there may be some logic behind the decision, in that less experienced people don't get stuck wondering why there is no sound coming out the synth and contact support for help.
Is there some hidden way to override this behaviour and have the synth remember the local control setting?
If not, should we ask for this in an update? I think many people may opt for this device as a midi controller.
Who would like an A1 that stayed local off forever?
The power switch return of local is there for safety!

NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ... I'm a gearslut!
RedLeo is correct here. Yes, this is done to avoid the problem of having users calling/writing in to tech support people like me complaining about "what's wrong with my Nord -- it doesn't make any sound."
It is not possible to change this as a user. I generally do not predict what Nord will or will not do, but it's a safe bet that there is NO WAY that Nord will change this. Ever. This is a "niggle" with which you shall have to learn to live. If entering the menu to toggle that setting is too demanding a chore, you can simply reach for the volume knob on the Nord and turn it off to effectively accomplish the same thing in many cases (though obviously not if you are folding midi back to the Nord via computer).
Bless,
Pablo
