Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
Okay, I have my Nord Lead 4 and a Korg Trinity Module, all I want to do play the sounds of the Trinity with the NL4 keys, from Trinity Midi IN goes to NL4 Midi Out but it is not working, the MIDI message doesn't get transmited. ON the NL3 this used to be very easy and practical but on the NL4 it seems to be very difficult or at least I don't have an clue of how to do it.
Does somebody know how to acomplish this ?

Hi Venatt,
What are you using for midi channel setting on your NL4? Have you looked in that menu? It is probably set to "broadcast" midi via USB. Set it to the MIDI port and you should be good.
Bless,
Pablo

Re: Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
I have other problem, when i wanted to change midi channels by changing slot buttons nothing happens and NL plays on first midi ch. Ofcourse previously i changed midi chanels: slot1 - ch.nr 1, slot2 - ch.nr2...
Have any of you also experienced this? I wanted to play my Virus in multi and i could change midi channels in global midi channel only.

Re: Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
Sorry for not replying in time, I was out of town for sometime, I will try looking into this but this time using my MotifXF6 with my NL4 instead of the Trinity Rack and let you know the outcome, right now I am using the Trinity Rack with a Studiologic USB/MIDI keyboard. When I had the NL3 I would use it as a controller with the Motif ES6 then later on with the MoitfXS7, It was very easy because I remember I would just press the MIDI button and then select the MIDI 1 to 4 midi channel on the NL3, but then I could set each one of these 4 buttons to whatever channel I wanted from 1 to 16 I would set my songs in the Motif. Usually I would never use more than 2 channel. For example on the Motif I would play channel 1 by default and whatever extra sounds I couldn't play on the Motif I would set them on channel 2 and play them on the NL3.pablomastodon wrote:Hi Venatt,

Re: Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
I have exactly the same problem, this used to be very easy on the Nord Lead 3 but on the NL4 the procedure seems to be different.rickk wrote:I have other problem, when i wanted to change midi channels by changing slot buttons nothing happens and NL plays on first midi ch. Re: Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
Hi there,
I suspect that the problem is that the NL4 always transmits on the Global midi channel rather than on the midi channels per slot. A major disadvantage, to my mind, when wishing to use the NL4 to control other synths. If this is the case, is there any chance that it might be amended in a future OS upgrade?

Re: Nord Lead 4 MIDI Problem
Hi Rickk,
It is not 100% clear to me exactly what it is that you want...to set different slots to different midi channels and then transmit midi on different channels according to which slot is selected?
It is possible to set each slot independently to a different midi channel, but this ONLY relates to reception of midi data, not transmission.
If I am not mistaken, tech support is the responsibility of the national distributor of the country in which you reside. Your Polish distributor is listed on the Nord website. You can try contacting them directly via phone, etc.
Bless,
Pablo
