Nord Stage 2 Synth Section HELP!

Hey everyone, I don't know if there has been any post like this before but, I could use some serious help using the synth section of my Nord Stage 2. I understand how to use the sample section, but I would like to learn how to use the waves in order to create some nice lead sounds and some cool comping sounds. I play in a top 40 cover band and lots of today's music require some serious electronic sounds. I'm finding it increasingly harder and harder to replicate these sounds with my lack of knowledge of the sound shaping capabilities of the synth section. I've looked on youtube for tutorials, but what I have found has not been very helpful at all. In fact, most of the people giving these tutorials don't go too deep into explaining anything.

What I'm looking for is someone to either give me a simplified explanation of the knobs, someone to make a proper video tutorial of how the knobs effect the sounds, or someone to point me in the right direction.

On page 29 of the manual there is a quite thorough explanation of the synth parameters.
SOS magazine has a long series of articles called Synth Secrets that, while generic, are very useful to understand various types of synthesis.
