synth section - white noise

Post by Nicko »

Hi Guys!

Just checking I'm not going mad here, but am I right in thinking the only way to get pure white noise on an NS2 is to use a sample? I can't find a way of doing it with the oscillator.

That's correct. The included samples sound good though, and fits the purpose well.

The NS2 comes with a white noise and a pink noise sample.

You can get some other scaling noises samples from here:

or play around with audacity and generate the spectrum you want. ;-)

Cheers guys - that's what I thought. Shame they couldn't have included that as an oscillator function, must be a pretty easy mode to program in the software

Thanks again

It would be digitally generated pseudo-random noise in any case, so not much better (if not worse) than a sample ;)
