NP2 - Settings Reset when Turned Off then Back On

Post by Blake »

Hi All,

Why is it that when I set knob settings in the Synth Panel such as; Attack, Release, Volume, when I come back to play after turning the Nord off these setting are reset?

To restore the settings I have to slightly turn the knobs until the setting is displayed on the screen then back to the position I wanted them to stay in.

This also affects the Delay panel.

Why is this?

Thank-you!

When you alter the settings of a sound, you explicitly have to save them if you want to keep them. If it didn't do this, you could unintentionally be overwriting presets. The main volume control is one of the few settings where the exact setting is always determined by the position of the knob, not some setting in a program.

If you would like the Nord to go back to the settings of your last session, I suggest using the first program for that. Just before you turn the Nord off, save the current settings to the first program overwriting the current settings (which is okay, since you're using it just as a kind of scratchpad). If you then turn it back on, you're ready to go, with exactly the settings you used last time. Rinse and repeat.

Oh right that makes sense, thank-you for helping. I wasn't aware of that.
