Hello all,
My question may be stupid, but is the Sound manager software usable with a Nord Rack 2X?
Thanks,
B.

Hi BHuck67,
No questions are stupid. Well, okay, some are...
But not that one. There's no way for you to know if you haven't been down that road before, so it's no problem to ask.
The answer is NO.
Bless,
Pablo

You can still backup your NL2X, archive individual programs or upload new ones, but you'd be using SysEx MIDI messages, would require some additional software and a MIDI interface.
Have a look at this post in the Nord Organ forum; the way of doing things for the NL2X is fairly similar.

Re: Nord rack 2X and Sound manager
Hi BHuck,
Looks like MJ and I are tag-teaming on this one. You didn't mention WHY you wanted to use Nord Sound Manager, so I didn't bother to go any deeper. Assuming that bank/program archiving, etc. is your goal, as MJ did, then yes, midi sysex is your route to nirvana. You will need a midi interface for that. Most DAWs can accomplish that function, but some might make it more or less friendly of an operation. There are also freeware options: SNOIZE for Mac-heads and MIDI-OX for PC-heads.
If you are more specific with what your intended goals are, we might be able to offer better advice.
Bless,
Pablo
