The new NORD PIANO 2 HP
Hi guys, I am very looking forward to the new NP 2 HP, as it seems to be the right option for me - hammer action, 73 keys and only 11 kgs. All great. Does any of you already got one?
The only think I am worried about is the loudness of the keys. Recently I tried the Electro 3 HP and Electro 4 HP, as I think there will be the same keys in the NP 2 HP, am I right? The action was fine to me but the keys were very noisy. I know that you dont hear that when playing live, but still it is something that you dont expect to happen when you buy such and expensive instrument.
Do you have any experience with that?

Re: The new NORD PIANO 2 HP
On a rare occasion, when playing alone quietly in my basement studio, I will sometimes hear the keys on my Electro 3HP. I never hear the keys when playing with others. I don't find it annoying at all. In fact, it's much less bothersome than the springy sound of the semi-weighted Electros.

Re: The new NORD PIANO 2 HP
When I bought my Nord Piano a couple of years ago, I was shocked by the noise of the keybed. I even posted here at the forum about it. Everyone agreed it was noisier than most keybeds from other manufacturers. ( Yamaha, Roland, Casio etc.)
I went to a music store and found that the top of the line Stage 2 was equally noisy.I have an Electro 4HP too, same thing. After a while, I just got accustomed to it and I hardly notice it anymore. I agree with Rusty that in a band context you're not going to hear it. At home, with headphones on, I do but only if I play softly.
Maybe someday Nord will use a keybed that is quieter and more commensurate with the price.

Agreed. The wonderful sounds of the pianos far outweigh the key noise.

That is strange, my NS2-88 and one I tried in a shop do not make any noticeable/unusual key noise.Unclebyron wrote:I went to a music store and found that the top of the line Stage 2 was equally noisy.I have an Electro 4HP too, same thing.

Re: The new NORD PIANO 2 HP
Hi Mr_-G- et al,
I guess it's a personal thing. I don't find my NS2 88 noisy at all. A friend of mine finds the key noise abhorrently loud for such an expensive board. Either way, I can barely hear my second-hand Roland CM30 in a practice, I very much doubt I'll hear my NS2's key noise at a gig!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Nord sounds. That's why I have two Nord keyboards but I do find the keybeds ( as compared some other manufacturers ) noisy. Every keyboard has it's strengths and weaknesses and we adjust to them.

Re: The new NORD PIANO 2 HP
I've seen/heard a couple of videos here complaining about the sound some keyboards make, mine does not make such level of noise.
