Re: Staging
It's always a matter of taste.
But I think most people will say Nord is best for Electric pianos and Organs. I definitly think so.

Re: Staging
I've spent considerable time playing everything 'new' out there, from the V-Piano, RD-700NX, CP1 and CP5, SV-1 88, etc. and the samples in my Nord Piano blow away everything else out there. The samples I can't get like organs, synths are still the best I've heard. Nord is on top when it comes to sampled sounds. Everything is absolutely fantastic.

Re: Staging
My vote is for Nord.
I have used everything Roland, Korg, Yamaha, and Kurzweil has to offer.

Re: Staging
Admittedly, a Nord Forum might give you biases results, nevertheless just my 2 cents:
EPs: Nords are top, in particular due to its variety! Although Yammie comes very close with the CP series - even the Motif was not too bad at its time. Korg is good too, I just don't like the SV-1 due to its Pseudo-Potis and spongey keybed. Kurzweil OK, Roland comes in last.
Organ: Nord (EX/C1/C2) comes second only to the Hammond XK3c IMHO.
AP: probably the least agreed upon ranking, really a question of taste. The Nord Piano really improved Nords standing here, although Yamaha, Roland, Kurzweil, Kawai all have decent Stage Pianos.
Synth: Nord took the Lead with the Lead and still top notch VA, although dedicated Analog/VAs are a different story as compared to the NE/NS at least. But the Sample Library is great.
Overall, I like the Nords about versatility, a great package with top quality sounds in ONE board. And I am really happy about NOT having glockenspiels, Brass patches, Symphonic Orchestras etc. so I won't be asked to play the Sax line in a Stevie Wonder cover or so!!
Just my .02$

Re: Staging
+1! Well said, and I agree with your comparisons. I owned the RD-700GXF and RD-700NX back to back, then got rid of both for the NP88, and I firmly believe that the Bosendorfer Imperial ( Grand Imperial) and Yamaha C7 (Studio Grand 2) are the best sounding, most versatile, most unique sounding grand pianos in any hardware DP. Also, Nord's uprights blow everyone else's uprights (if they even have them) out of the water.Johannes wrote:Admittedly, a Nord Forum might give you biases results, nevertheless just my 2 cents:
