Saving Global Midi Setting

Post by Mick_S »

Somehow I managed to 'undo' my global midi setting. I work in Performance mode, and could not for the life of me get the new setting to stay when powered off. It kept toggling back to 16. I exited Performance Mode, changed it there and it seems to be saved now. Is this right? I like to write quirky things like this down because my rig is getting so complex I need a flowchart when things don't work right. Which leads me to ask if there is a battery in the Lead 2X that will some day need replacing? Lastly, and I posted this but got no answer...is there a way to get the Lead 2X to power up in Performance mode?
thanks!

There isn't, fortunately. The settings are saved in flash memory.

You mean the Global MIDI channel, right? I think it defaults to channel 1 and I can't really think of a reason why it would change all of a sudden.

I remember someone asking about this a while ago (might've been you though) and the answer was pretty much 'nope'. I tried it on my Nord Rack 3 (granted, not the same thing as your NL2X) and I also wasn't able to get it to start up in performance mode.

So as far as I know, there's no way to get it to start up in that mode. I also know of no way to switch to performance mode via some MIDI command.
