NP2 split question

Post by stevenyounger »

Have had the NP2 for about a week now and LOVE it.

I am setting up sounds for an upcoming gig and want to create a split for a particular tune: I'm specifically looking to have a Clav/Wurli split, but both are in the piano library and I'm having trouble figuring out how to do that. Is it possible to create a piano/piano split rather than a piano/synth split?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can do that, but I'm far from sure either.

There are some clav and wurli sounds in the sample library, but I have no idea how playable they would be.

Thanks! I figured that the sample library would hold the solution, but wondered (and still do) why they can't allow a 2-piano lib split.

The electronics are not set up to allow this to work, there's not 'enough' of it. The Nord Stage 2, which can do it, actually has two piano sections, two organ sections and two synth sections. It is also roughly twice as expensive as the Nord Piano 2.

Sure, they could've given the NP2 two piano and two synth sections, but that would've brought the price pretty close to what the NS2 costs, so there wouldn't really be a point. It never hurts to want more with what we have of course.
