Nord Rack 1 Dumping edited Percussion Kits

Post by lowjac »

Hello this is my first post, I just wanted to know whether its possible to dump edited percussion kits without having a PCMCIA card from my Nord Rack 1. I have read the manual but cannot figure out if this is possible. I made some edits to P9 for a test and tried to dump the kit using Sysex Librarian but when I loaded it again to my Nord non of the changes was saved. :wtf:

Uploading without a PCMCIA card isn't easy, but it can be done, when you take the time.
See percussion mode as 8!! synths together.
When changing a percussion sound you have to press the black key in the zone of that sound. Saving this it will be saved into the over all Percussion, when you are on a NL2X or using a PCMCIA card.
If not, edit the sound press [store] and scroll to a memory location of the normal programs [1-40].
From there [dump one] to your computer. The percussion sound is now saved as a normal Program.

Uploading the other way at round.
Press the black key in the right zone and send the sysex from the computer.
It has to show up, but can't be saved...

In fact, nobody uses Percussion mode, even when they realize there are 32 very small synths availlable. It is handy when using effects or blibb&blobbs...

Thank you so much for your reply Wout, this was actually in the manual but did not really get how the percussion kits work!
