3P Module Housing

Post by drewmmer »

Hey all,

I've had a 3P for years and I freakin love it! As my synth collection is growing I'm running out of desktop space, so I've decided to remove the 3P module from the pads/frame and build a housing for it. I'll build some quick connectors to replace the pad connections for performance, if I ever decide to perform with it again (though I may use finger pads alternatively, such as I'll be using on my desk). I have it removed and started mocking up some Birch plywood to build the housing, but then realized it would be cool to have it out of plexiglass.

I'm wondering if anyone has created design files for CNC cutting of materials for the frame and rear ports. And if you have them, would you be willing to share? I can happily donate to your cause. I can make my own with Illustrator, but I don't have a way to test the measurements/fits to make sure they're perfect before ordering the job. If I had a CNC machine I'd cut templates out of paper to determine the fit, but I don't and I don't want to waste money or material.

Also, I had previously found some info about people doing this, but on recent web searches I'm not coming up with what I've previously seen. Can anyone point me to any posts on this forum regarding this? Searching things like "3p module removal", "3p module" not turning up anything.

Thanks all!
