Triple pedal Sustain & "extra" Data

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

When I am recording the triple pedal into a sequencer, the pedal sends controller 64 at several values (0, 22, 64, 85, & 127) which is great when playing back to the Nord, but presents issues with some VIs. Kontakt, for example, will get 'confused' and cut out notes unexpectedly. I understand connecting a standard pedal will resolve that, but I am curious if there is a way to have the triple pedal not send anything but 0 and 127, or if it might be possible for Nord to program that feature into a future update?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Considering that keyboard with a continuous sustain pedal will behave like that in terms of CC64 MIDI Data, which imo is the correct way, the problem lies on the VI side not being able to handle it properly and so I'd suggest to fix it at that level, i.e. software, by using some MIDI scripter/preprocessor before the VI (built-in the VI Host or inside the VI itself as e.g. Kontakt can do) that can convert/filter the continuos values to just 0-127
