If I were to put the control panel of a stage 4 on my ne5 and plugged it in to the main piano would I then have a stage 4?

I’m not understanding what you are proposing to do.

However, if you are talking about trying to swap parts between a stage 4 and a NP5 the answer would be no, you can’t do that.

It seems like you already have a stage 4, so what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Of course not... mainboards, panels, as well as their connections and firmwares are model specific, the panel contains only controls and display/leds and related electronics and each panel model can only work when connected its specific mainboard... which manufacturer would be so silly to allow something like that btw?
