Keybed Noise NS4

Post by DrJmur »

Just purchased new 88 key NS4 and love the sound but Keybed seems pretty loud and clunky especially upon key release. When playing with headphones it’s not a major issue but is fairly audible when using studio monitors. Was wondering if this is typical or if maybe I got a defective unit. Thanks for any input

I’ve had my NS4 88 for 6 months now. I thought the same thing when I first played it and was seriously thinking of returning it for a compact. After playing for a while, I ended up falling in love with the lighter hammer action and whole Nord interface. Now the key clunks are less noticeable. So glad I kept it.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was able to check out a friends NS4 and his Keybed sounds very similar to mine. I have decided to keep it and I am starting to get little more comfortable with it. I also like the light action but it is taking a bit to adapt. I have been playing on a Yamaha P-515 and a Roland RD-88, which has a surprisingly nice Keybed and is very quiet acoustically. I greatly appreciate your comment.
