Compatibility NS2ex compact vs NS4 compact
Good morning everyone, can you confirm that the total backup of a Nord stage 2 ex compact can be imported completely without losses onto a Nord stage 4 compact?

Definitely not compatible program structure. Individual samples can be ported between NS2 and NS4.

Re: Compatibility NS2ex compact vs NS4 compact
So the NS2ex backup if imported into NS4 will not be imported correctly? The programs I made will no longer be there? And what will it import at this point?

Re: Compatibility NS2ex compact vs NS4 compact
A NS2ex backup is of little use for anything but a NS2 or NS2ex. It is not compatible with other models. The only thing you can do is rename it to a *.zip file and extract the samples. Programs cannot be reused for any Nord model on another Nord model.
There is a user created Nord Stage program viewer for NS2/2ex/3 programs - that way, you can extract the program settings for your programs and try to recreate them using the NS4 architecture.

Re: Compatibility NS2ex compact vs NS4 compact
Although it won't help an NS2EX user, there does seem to be a change to this rule, unless I'm misunderstanding something...
from the "New Features" section at https://www.nordkeyboards.com/software/ ... d-manager/
Program Conversion: Nord Stage 3 programs can now be converted to Nord Stage 4 format (.ns4p). Nord Piano 5 and Nord Grand 2 programs can now be converted to Nord Piano 6 format (.np6p)

Yes we talked about that quite a bit, but still also with that new feature the conversion is not always 100% accurate (particularly for synth section, as expected due to the architectural differences between each generation).anotherscott wrote: ↑08 Apr 2025, 18:07Although it won't help an NS2EX user, there does seem to be a change to this rule, unless I'm misunderstanding something...

For sure not applicable to NS2 anyway, as you pointed out too
