C5D sending reverb on an off to external board (Help)

Post by Deadkeys »

Have a Nord Electro 5D midi to Yamaha YC61 Setting piano on YC and assinged piano to respond to external device only
The Nords sustain is set to sustain/Rotary control. Every time i hit the sustain pedal I see the rotary come on the nord but it sends
a max reverb level to the YC piano patch. What should I check here

Thanks

The NE5D (not C5D...) has a MIDI CC assigned to the Rotary which on YC corresponds to Reverb and you cannot change that on either side.

Suggestion is not to use sustain pedal for both sustain & rotary but sustain only + add a pedal (or halfmoon switch) for rotary only, otherwise you'd need to MIDI-filter that CC using a MIDI Events Processor (HW box or app on a computer/tablet sitting between NE and YC)
