MIDI Stage 4 + Electro 6D
Hello! I’m the proud owner of a Stage 4 and Electro 6D, which I have connected via MIDI (out from stage, in to electro). I share sounds occasionally, but mostly do this for program changes. I’ve noticed times where changing the program on the stage will load the correct program on the electro, but there will be no sound coming from the electro. If I leave the electro program and go back into it, it sounds fine, but not on the initial loading. This only seems to happen on certain programs/sequences of programs. I’m thinking it must be my MIDI settings - Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: MIDI Stage 4 + Electro 6D
Do you have the Electro connected using the EXTERN function? This is the most flexible method, but check that you only use the SEND ON LOAD function (a per program setting in the EXTERN menu) to send just program changes. It might be that the S4 is also sending a CC message when loading programs which is affecting the patch on the Electro.

Thanks for the suggestions! I went in and found that are two patches that this situation affects. Neither patch uses the extern section (beyond the program change), but I went in and turned all midi cc’s off and the issue persists. Every additional extern setting for these patches are the same as the ones that work correctly. I can get around it since it’s only two patches, but I can’t understand what’s causing it.

You should switch off Global Channel of NS4 (or use a channel not used on NE6) and use only Extern to pilot the NE6 (when you want i.e. activate Extern only on the Programs where it is needed).rallen63092 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 16:23 Thanks for the suggestions! Normally in this kind of setup you should have Global Channel off on both NS4 and NE6 and use the ExternKbToLo on NE6 on a given channel (e.g Ch16), assign the required NE6 Sections to ExtKeyb and then use NS4 Extern on that same channel (Ch16 in this example) to play those Sections

Do you have any Midi monitoring software? It would be useful to see what Midi is being sent by the Stage 4 when loading the problem patches.
