Hi!
We’ve recently built a garden room with the idea I could use it as my own music room. I wanted to keep my nord electro5hp set up out there but the only problem is that it isn’t heated (apart from an electric heater I switch on when I go there to play).
Living in Ireland during the winter temperature can drop below freezing - will this damage the instrument? Do I need to pack it into its case over winter ? Or is it a bad idea to even store it there with the case?
Any help much appreciated !

Cool or cold temperatures are not a problem for electrical and electronic devices, but moisture is.
Any prolonged exposure to moisture can lead to corrosion. The risk of condensation (also inside the instrument) is particularly treacherous when the ambient temperature changes. I would at least have reservations about storing high-quality instruments in such a so-called "barrack climate" for any length of time.

I don't think it's a great idea to leave a Nord set up year round in an unconditioned space. It can probably survive the hot and cold temperatures, though you may have some elements such as moisture or dampness that wouldn't be good for the Nord. You also might have a theft risk, if this is an external shed that could be a target for thieves.
If you want to play it out there, I'd suggest keeping it in the house and taking it to the garden room only when you'll be playing it.

Ireland in winter? Nah .... condensation is too much of a risk. Arizona? Sure.
I think I have gear issues ....

I am recalling the scene in the Movie about Apollo 13 when they go turn on the power again for the Command Module (after leaving it powered off for over 24 hours, to conserve limited battery capacity). The movie shows there was a lot a condensation, caused because the temperature went way down from its former high temperature after the Command Module was powered down. I'm assuming they did not just make up this detail. It gives you something to think about.
