Very intermittent problem, and I know if I brought it into a tech, the keyboard would totally behave.
I have an Electro 6D. Just recently, there are times when I am playing it on a gig, and the sound just stops. Nothing comes out of the instrument. I do a quick shut off and back on, and it's back to normal, until it happens again. I did all kinds of troubleshooting, and ruled out any cables, the amp, the power, etc...
It happened on one gig, didn't happen for a dozen gigs, and happened tonight after about 2 hours of playing, and I had to do multiple on and off moments because it happened a number of times. I'm not sure, but I think that when I hit the keys harder, it was happening more often.
I don't think that I can trust bringing it on a gig. I don't know if the problem is in hardware or software. I am going to update the OS today, but I won't know if the issue was fixed until it happens again on a gig, and that could be tomorrow, a week, a month, who knows?
Anybody have this happen to them?
Help me troubleshoot this problem- what might it be?

Re: Help me troubleshoot this problem- what might it be?
Hello, I have a Nord Electro 6D 73 purchased in July 2018 on which I have performed all firmware updates. For about 6 months the keyboard has been freezing as you describe. I have the impression that this happens (without being able to confirm it) with a combination of keys, in particular with the use of the Live key.
This is indeed problematic in live sessions where the keyboard must be rebooted!
No solution found for the moment...

Re: Help me troubleshoot this problem- what might it be?
This type of problem has been reported on various Nords over the years (Electro, Stage, Piano, etc.) and there have been two potential solutions you can try.
Find a YouTube video that explains how to open up your Nord, typically it is removing a bunch of screws from the back and underside, then hinging up the top. There will be a few grey ribbon connectors between the main board and the instrument panel. You can check to be sure these ribbon connectors are seated properly, possibly unplug and replug them. This could be a cause of what you're seeing.
The other one, which I've seen on my NS3, is when some kind of dust or dirt gets under a button and makes it do weird things. You can use a product like Electro Wash and spray around all of your Nord's buttons to clean them out.
These are a couple of additional things to try. Good luck!

Thank you for that. I am absolutely going to do that right now, since I want to be playing this instrument on a gig tomorrow. Hoping for the best.
