NS3 Organ - Trying to duplicate Kronos Organ

Post by jetrocker »

Hoping someone who has the NS3 and the Kronos can answer here. Last night I tried to get close to duplicating the "Distortion Organ" program on my Kronos, on my NS3. I would think with all the Hammond like controls on the Nord, that it would be pretty easy. I spent an hour and really never got close. The Kronos program sounds fuller and has a higher tone element that I never got near on the NS3. Can anyone comment on why? Thought maybe because the Kronos uses a sample that has other things tweaked that can't really be duplicated on a pure draw bar set up? Thx.

You should analyze the Kronos program in all its details and write them down.
Probably the Kronos uses also some distortion or AmpSim FX which is not available on the Nord?

Yes, you'd already mentioned the name of the program. Nobody who does not have access to a Kronos will be able to help you unless you supply us with an audio example of the sound you're trying to achieve.

That specific program is based upon the HD-1 sample engine, not on the CX-3 Hammond emulator engine of the Kronos. It’s quite harsh sounding including a vibrato V3 type effect, quite much overdrive and the not so realistic Leslie emulator effect of the Kronos. You can come close by using V3, adjust overdrive and use higher harmonics drawbars but maybe better to sample the Kronos if you prefer this sound much.

OK, sorry. Yes, you're right of course but my thought was those that do could check it out on their board. I'm not in town so could not provide anything. THx.

Just checked out my old KronosX at its new owner...

So you mean that Sound here?
Image

So Valpurgis is right - this as a HD-1 Sample, even if it sounds really close to a CX-3 in some parts.

I had my collegue made a wave file for the NordSampleEditor, but in the result the vibrato is not sync when looped.
The sample should be unmodulated and the vibrato should come from the Nord.
With that in mind, it should be better to rebuild the sound...

In the end, I´m still not aware how to upload any Files into the Forum anyway...

Well - I try to place it here:
MAC KX Dist Org2 _SLM.nsmp3
(3.78 MiB) Downloaded 66 times
MAC KX Dist Org_SLM.nsmp3
(4.35 MiB) Downloaded 63 times
My first Forum attachment  I just experiment around with this options...

Sorry for not having a .mp3 yet...

Again - this is a Sample and the Vibrato is out of Sync - I would prefer to rebuilt the Sound with the Organ Section.
This Sample could help at least as a template...
