Electro 6D loss in volume

Post by thegentile »

hello all,

been a while since i posted because i have simply been playing music after my initial purchase. my electro recently had a very sudden drop in volume across both output channels. it needs to be cranked to be heard and even then occasionally the volume will go away completely and then gradually come back. i've tried different amps and cables to get the basic troubleshooting out of the way, but the problem is with the nord. different sounds and patches, engines, etc. make any difference on the volume. nor does turning it on and off. i'm going to try a complete reset, but in the meantime i thought i would check out the forum - there have been a few topics, but not much to go on solution-wise. any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

What exactly are you using as routing? Stereo/mono out? Any headphone connected? Any adapter used?

And do you have a volume pedal connected?

I recall instances in the past where volume issue occurred when a pedal was plugged into the incorrect socket. Following FZiegler's idea - disconnect all pedals when diagnosing this.

I've had this same problem with my Stage 3 76. It even occurs when the only thing plugged in the back is a stereo out to amp/pa, with no pedal connected. Running on OS v2.62
I think it might be a bad cable.

Nord Stage 3 hp76, Yamaha CP300, Yamaha tenor sax, a Behringer X Air XR12 to mix keys sax and in ears, and a pair of 12” Mackie thumps to compete with noisy band mates.
