I DROPPED MY NS3 HELP!

Post by Winds »

As the title says, I dropped it... very carelessly.... must be due to lack of sleep. My NS3 was already in my case but I forgot to lock it... when I made it stood up that's when my NS3 fell flat on its face!

Of course I tried it immediately out of worry and wow it still works but... SHOULD I BE WORRIED?!

Yes you may be worried in case some of the cables got loose due to the shock when it fell down, but you will notice it soon I guess.

Are there any obvious damages?

Hi guys so it seems after a few rehearsals sound seems ok! However I can see three after effects with pictures attached:

1) Raised hump next to rotary speaker knob
2) Slight curved towards inside
3) White blemishes at edges

My only main concern is the raised hump next to the rotary speaker knob. Anyone have any idea what that part is supposed to control?

Hi Winds,

Great to hear it still sounds ok. I'd still have it checked t.b.h. or ask your Nord distributor or official technical support for an assessment of possible damage inside the unit. I could be wrong, but it seems it took quite an impact. Perhaps the boards, keybed or other inside components were flexed, bent, or came loose. I'd want to make sure everything inside is still ok, safe and secure, because you'll probably keep moving it around for gigs and rehearsals, and you don't want the unit to fail in the middle of a gig.

Cheers,
Albert

my NS3 Compact fell out of the back of a trailer going 55 mph and bounced like a stone down a paved road. thankfully it wasn't hit by another car, but other than some scratches, its worked fine for the last 4 years. It's built like a tank. Pop it open and check all the ribbon cables are seated well and you're good to go.

That's quite a testament. You should consider letting the folks at Nord know!

Kind regards

Well...if it still works, you're probably good.
For the most times when s*** happens, it either work or it doesn’t work.
If something mystic behavior occurs, then it's probably a loose cable/contact --> easy fix.
