Global Pedal Noise Toggle
Hi all,
New user here
Is there an option somewhere that I don’t see to disable/toggle pedal noise globally?
I’m using my P5 as a slave off my Yamaha N3 when in my home studio.
All my pedals and piano come from the N3 and my CC64 makes a hell of a noise on the P5.
Anyway, I just need to turn off the pedal noise to solve but I don’t want to go through each preset and restore…
- that’s a lot of presets
- when I travel with just the P5 I kind of like the noise with a NTP
Thanks

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
Hi and welcome to NUF
Unfortunately not, it is a per-program setting, you need to disable it on each NP5 Program and/or create 2 versions of each Program (with or without Pedal Noise enabled) or use the A/B panels of the same Program to hold the 2 versions (when possible i.e. when only one panel active in the original Program)

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
I’m not sure at all, but what happens if you change the global pedal setting in the NP5 from "Triple" to "open" respective "closed" (i.e. disabling the Triple function)? That would be the first thing I would check.E_Jonesy wrote: Is there an option somewhere that I don’t see to disable/toggle pedal noise globally?

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
That settings unfortunately affects only the local Sustain pedal type, not what is received via MIDI i.e. the CC64 that triggers the Pedal Noise (if active)Nordlicht wrote:I’m not sure at all, but what happens if you change the global pedal setting in the NP5 from "Triple" to "open" respective "closed" (i.e. disabling the Triple function)? Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
Yeap, exactly what Max wrote.
I did change all those settings… and many more first
I’m not near my NP5 but I might have a look to see if it sends any command over ‘shift+pedal noise’.
If it does then I’ll look at napping it to an external button

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
You don't need to be near to your NP5 to know that, its manual says it all (look at APPENDIX: MIDI CONTROLLERS LIST)E_Jonesy wrote:Yeap, exactly what Max wrote.

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
I looked at that and saw the CC# but it’s nice to see the actual midi leaving the NP5 when toggled.
Just copy n paste from there to see if it works best as a toggle or separate on & off buttons

Re: Global Pedal Noise Toggle
I think it is simply CC#53 (Pedal Noise) = 0 when OFF and 127 when ON as it usually is when only 2 values are possible.
So if you want to control it via a single external (MIDI) momentary switch you will need it to toggle between those 2 values, otherwise you can use 2 buttons (OFF sending CC53=0 and ON sending CC53=127)
