Roland CM-30 Cube

Anybody here using a Roland CM-30 cube, maybe at home or as a monitor?

I had the chance to try one in a small rehearsal room last night, and it didn't sound too bad, if a little easy to distort. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience of them? I'm trying to find something lightweight and small to use at home, decent quality but something that won't break the bank...

Hi Chris,

I used a CM-30 for several years, really liked the sound! In particular, Accoustic Piano and Organ sounded great to me, Rhodes so-so, sometimes a bit too distortive if you play very expressively. But at lower volumes nice! I think in this loudness and price range there are not many competitors plus it is really compact and versatile in terms of inputs.
For home practice it is great. When I used it as a personal monitor at band rehearsals and even on stage, it gets to its limits and this is why I upgraded. Build like a tank and looked like new after five years so sold it at almost no loss => keeps its value!
IMHO, it sounds much better compared to the Roland Keyboard Amps of the KC series!
