Nord Lead 3 Velocity Question

Post by 2000blk »

Hello,

Could I anyone help? I'm having a problem with the keyboard recognising velocity data. I'm sending it via MIDI, but whichever value I send, except for 0, I am receiving the same level. Also the keys don't seem to react no matter how hard or softly they are played. Is anyone able to advise?

Thank you

Hello,

Not to worry. I think I've solved it. A different question, though. Is it possible to assign velocity control from FM init or sound init. To have velocity control for sounds you develop yourself?

Thanks

You can't change the init patches, no. Just use the velocity morph and filter env vel option, that's what they're for.

Old thread, I know - but it likely doesn’t have velocity by default because synths originally didn’t have velocity. And depending on the sound, you may not want velocity at all, and if you do it might be to change the timbre not the volume.
