QSC K.2 - "Protect Mode 4" Thermal Shutdown Issue Reported

Post by lawman »

On The Gear Page site, there has been a lot of discussion about QSC K.2 products experiencing shutdown issues related to "Protect Mode 4," a thermal protection mode built into the QSC firmware. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index ... 4.2259353/
Has this been a problem for users in this Forum? It appears to affect mostly newer K10.2s, and a smattering of K12.2s. I don't currently own any QSC products but I'm surprised to see such a hubbub on that other site, yet no discussion here (at least, none that I've found).

There was a huge thread about this a year ago on MPN. QSC has released two firmware updates in the last 12 months or so which should take care of this. Double check your FW version and update to the latest if necessary:

I have definitely had this problem with my k10.2 with the latest firmware 1.3.3 and it's driving me nuts. I'm considering ditching it for something else as it's happened probably 4 or 5 times now with both keys and guitar through a Helix.
